ANACAPRI
TERRITORY
Tiberius even more than Augustus appreciated
the great beauty of Anacapri, learning to love the tranquillity that still
today conveys that sense of peace that only close contact with uncontaminated
nature can provide.
The discreet charm of Anacapri, intimate
and a little hidden, though not as internationally renowned as Capri’s
bustiling “Piazzetta”, is undoubtedly more suggestive. The
wild and natural beauty of the landscapes, the narrow streets and little
white houses of the historical centre, the footpaths that lead down the
terraced hillsides as far as the sea, the magical allure and peaceful
atmosphere even in high season: Anacapri is always a pleasant and surprising
“discovery”. But what makes the atmosphere truly unique is
the hospitality of the locals, the simplicity of their lifestyle and the
sensation of familiarity that envelops visitors more used to life in the
cities. Visitors who find themselves discovering the pleasure of long
walks and the joy of chance encounters, of relating to others in order
to discover themselves.
Everywhere is something to capture the gaze or the spirit: from the breathtaking
views of Monte Solaro and the Migliera to Axel Munthe’s villa-museum,
from the glorious sunsets above the Imperial villa at Damecuta to the
magnificent seascapes of the “Faro” at Punta Carena; from
the historical nature walks around the footpaths and “fortini”
to the art and history of the church of San Michele, the “Casa Rossa”,
the Hermitage
at Cetrella and “Miniature Capri”, not to mention the Grotta
Azzurra, with its dreamy cobalt blue waters, and lots more besides…Anacapri
is “livable” 365 days a year, day after day visitors will
find something new, constantly discover new aspects.
